World Languages
Glenvar offers students the opportunity to explore the cultures and languages of French, Latin, and Spanish from level 1 through the Advanced Placement level (often called “level 5”).
Students may begin studying a foreign language in the 8th grade, but they may also choose to begin studies of another language any year during the course of their high school career.
Study of a foreign language is not a requirement to receive a standard diploma.
For an advanced diploma, however, students must have studied at least 3 years of one language, or 2 years of 2 different languages. A grade of ‘C’ or higher is a required before advancement to the next level.
