1. 2024RCPSOnline Summer Academy 

 

RCPSOnline Summer Academy courses are available for rising 9th through 12th grade students (rising 9^th grade students register at Glenvar Middle School):

Please read the following details:

Registration is now open for RCPS Online Academy Summer School classes.

Classes are $400 each (in county). Out of county is $500 per course.  These are designed to be new classes that the student takes online.

Registration deadline is May 28th.

More info:

• Classes are 100% online and run from June 3rd to July 12^th
• Students must turn in the form above (can be picked up in counseling office too) with their full payment in order to be registered.
• Refunds are not available after the course has begun.
• Students may take up to two classes.
• Students will be allowed to keep their school-issued laptop for the duration of the course.
• ALL courses require a face-toface exam or an End-of-Course SOL test. These exams will take place July 15th, 16th, and 17th at a location to be determined. If your child cannot attend a face-to-face exam or SOL test, DO NOT enroll them for any Academy course

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Roanoke County Summer School 

  Secondary Summer School: Repeat courses only (more info & list of courses: /Domain/184 )

Face-to-face at Northside High School. 

• REGISTRATION

Registration begins on_____ and ends at ___________.  All registration forms and payment (FREE for 2022 summer) must be received by the ______ deadline.  Students may register at any Roanoke County middle or high school.

• LOCATION and TRANSPORTATION

Transportation will be provided to and from each of the division’s 16 elementary schools.____ Summer School Session will be held at Northside High School.

•  MEALS

   Breakfast and lunch will be provided free of charge.

•  PROGRAM

Students may register for a repeat summer school course only if they have been previously enrolled in the course for its duration. 

Students may enroll in two (2) repeat classes.  All subjects are taken for credit.

All courses, with the exception of World Language, are provided through Edgenuity, an online, individualized program of study with assistance from certified RCPS teachers.  Students enrolled in an Edgenuity class take a pre-assessment to determine the learning standards in which they are deficient. Once they begin the class, Edgenuity students must meet summer school attendance requirements; however, when students demonstrate proficiency in the required standards they will be released with approval of the administration.
