The Theatre Arts program at Glenvar High School is composed of both formal, lab-style Theatre Arts courses as well as full theatrical productions.

Theatre Arts I is a basic look at the many facets of the entertainment and performance world, from films and television to video games, podcasts, sports, and of course, live stage theatre.  Units of study will involve elements of performance, technical work, design, and artistic interpretation.

Advanced Theatre Arts, which is repeatable up to 3 times, provides students with enhanced opportunities for to develop their own creative thoughts, processes, and styles while engaging in more in-depth design, analysis, and experimentation within the world of multi-media studies and stage performance.

Theatre Glenvar High stages live, full-scale theatrical productions each fall and spring. Cast and crew members are needed for every show.  Experience is not required for any roleTraining for any desired role will be provided on the job.

Roles that are always needed are as follows:

  • Actors (auditioned)

  • Stage Managers

  • Light Technicians

  • Sound Technicians

  • Stage Hands

  • Make-Up Artists

  • Costumers

Students do not have to take Theatre Arts courses to participate in Theatrical Productions. This is an after-school extracurricular activity open to any student.
